We have our next trip booked for May 2018. Looking at the calendar park hours, for example say Magic Kingdom 9am-9pm. But then lists fireworks at 10:35. How can this be? Do they not have park hours fully updated this far out in advance? thanks. Lea

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Lea! Congrats on your upcoming vacation! When your family sees the fireworks explode over Magic Kingdom’s Cinderella Castle, they will have wide eyes and warm hearts. The magic is real!

I checked the calendar for the week of May 18-22, and saw that you viewed the Electrical Water Pageant at 10:35 - this is actually a lit-up water parade that occurs on the lagoon outside the park in the late night hours. I adored watching it from my Boca Chica Building at The Grand Floridian Resort and Spa! The evening’s Magic Kingdom Fireworks Spectacular (Happily Ever After) or the projection show (Once Upon a Time) won’t occur after the park has closed, so you won’t miss it! Each week that goes by sees the Parks and Hours calendar updated with park hours, parades, refurbishments and more. For the most part, it’s updated at least 6 months in advance, which is helpful for making your Advanced Dining Reservations! Make sure that you check back until your vacation is “on the board,” so to speak, and again when you arrive at your Walt Disney World Resort Hotel to double check that it hasn’t changed.

If I can help you plan further, please let me know. I’m always on the lookout for something new and exciting to do, like Mickey’s Backyard BBQ or exploring Pandora: World of Avatar. We’ll see ya’ real soon! ~ Lindsey P.
