Greetings Katie!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Thank you for sharing your planning questions with us. Your family of five will have an absolutely wonderful time on your next Walt Disney World Resort vacation. My kids are also several years apart, yet we have all easily found ways to enjoy our trips together and the Rider Switch Service is one way Disney makes this possible.
You will find the
Rider Switch Service offered for most rides which have a minimum height requirement. (You can find the full list
here.) To use it, your entire party will need to arrive at the participating attraction and simply ask the Cast Member for a Rider Switch Pass. For my family of five, we alternate who gets to ride with Mom or Dad and who goes first. For example, if your 6-year-old chooses to ride with you, then your 7-year-old can wait with Dad and the baby. Once you return, it's time for Dad and your 7-year-old to then ride without having to wait in the regular line again. On the next Rider Switch Service participating attraction you can switch who rides with who or who goes first. It works out perfectly for our family and makes sure everyone has a great time riding each attraction without taking up precious time waiting in line multiple times.
Please let me know if there is anything else I am able to assist you with, Katie. I hope you are having a great time planning your Walt Disney World Resort vacation and hope to hear from you again soon.
Magical Wishes,
Lauren
