Hi Rachelle! Thanks for stopping by planDisney!
Oh boy! It's always the best feeling knowing you have a Walt Disney World trip on the books! With all the planning needed, it's great to get a head start on the process. I recently returned from a stay at
Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside and had a magical time.
When driving to the Walt Disney World Resort, it's always nice to be able to park right outside of your resort room for easy convenience. Living fairly close myself, we typically make the drive down almost every time. I'm happy to report that Port Orleans Resort - Riverside has parking available next to each building at the resort. And with this resort being as large as it is, it's a major perk to be able to park so close. You can use your My Disney Experience App to check-in online, so you can head straight to your room when you are notified it is ready. In addition to the ease of unloading your baggage, you also have easy access to your car if you decide to drive to the parks during your visit.
If you do happen to stay at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge or any other resort that has a central parking location again, I suggest driving up to the entrance of the resort. Here you can
unload your luggage with bell services and they will put them on a luggage cart. If your room is ready, they will take your bags directly to your room for you or store them until your room is ready. Once it is, call down from your resort room phone to have a Cast Member bring them up.
You are in for a treat staying at Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside on your next stay. The main resort pool is centrally located, which makes for easy access no matter where your resort room is located. There is a
watercraft service that will take you directly to Disney Springs or the neighboring French Quarter Resort. If you have never tried
Mickey beignets before, the trip over to French Quarter is well worth it.
Rachelle, I hope you have an amazing time during your upcoming stay!
See ya real soon!
Greg
