I am a newly diagnosed Type 2 Diabetic controlled by diet and exercise. We have the dining plan. Where would I be able to find nutritional information and caloric content of counter service and sit down meals? I have lost 33.5 lbs using MyFitnessPal.

    Kathy,

First of all, congratulations on your weight loss and your commitment to a healthier lifestyle!  I know the circumstances aren't ideal, but it's great that you are really working hard to control your condition.

Counter service restaurants are a little tricky when it comes to getting accurate nutrition information.  Each restaurant does have a notebook with nutrition information, but it mostly provides the information for food labels.  Some restaurants are better than others, but it really is a game of chance.  Your best option is to order as much fresh food as possible and ask the servers for anything specific that you might need: vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, low-sugar, etc.

For table service restaurants, note any dietary needs as you make reservations.  You can also call 407-824-5967 or email SpecialDiets@disneyworld.com to make special requests.

Hope this helps.  Have a magical vacation!

Meet the Panelist: Diane, Georgia

After spending 25 years in RI, my husband and I relocated to GA with our youngest, who is now in high school. I took my first trip to Walt Disney World when I was 11 and I have traveled many times since then with all different party sizes. From creating our first itinerary as a honeymooner to later creating magical experiences for our multigenerational family gatherings, every aspect of planning a vacation has been pure joy to me.  Learn More About Diane
