Welcome to planDisney and thank you for your really great question!

We are all extremely excited about MagicBand+’s debut coming this summer! With the new technology, guests will be able to experience color-changing lights and haptic vibrations that bring the magic to life. And of course, guests will be able to utilize the normal MagicBand features for entry, Disney PhotoPass, and unlocking your Disney Resorts Collection hotel room door.

At this time, I’m not aware of any MagicBand+ capabilities on the Apple Watch. They are completely separate from one another. You can however sync up your Apple Watch with Disney MagicMobile! With MagicMobile, once set up, you’d be able to use your Apple Watch like the original MagicBand! I love using Disney MagicMobile because I’ve forgotten my MagicBand in my hotel room a number of times and having my phone or watch as a back-up has proven to be helpful!
