Can new and unused original magic bands be used at Disneyland currently?

Hello and welcome to planDisney, Katie. Thank you for sharing this question with us. I am super excited about your upcoming visit to the Disneyland Resort and I'm delighted to help out.

Currently, MagicBand+ is the only type of band that is supported at the Disneyland Resort. If you have a MagicBand+ that you've previously used at Walt Disney World, you are most welcome to use this during your visit to Disneyland. As you may know, you can also customize your light-up theme, and the best part (in my opinion) is that it's rechargeable.

I love my MagicBand+ and the convenience it provides for park entry. The Cast Member will just tap my band and I'm good to go. The Disney100 Celebration is also underway and there are various medallions throughout the resort (and even a giant Mickey Mouse statue in Downtown Disney District) that interact with your MagicBand+ (tip, try it at night). The MagicBand+ also interacts with the two new nighttime spectaculars, Wondrous Journeys and World of Color - ONE. You'll even find that it interacts with certain attractions - my favorite is when you're exiting the Haunted Mansion.

I hope this is helpful as you plan your magical visit, Katie. If you have other questions as you continue to plan, please come back to ask us - we love to help. Here's to your best Disney day at the Happiest Place on Earth!
