Will new tickets linked in My Disney Experience automatically link to my old magic band that is in My Disney Experience from a previous trip/ticket?

Hi Kristen and welcome to planDisney!

MagicBands are such a fun way to add a little extra magic to your Walt Disney World vacation.  It's so convenient to have access to your theme park tickets, the ability to make purchases for merchandise and dining and unlock your Disney Resort hotel room with just a tap of your wrist.  I love not having to dig through my bag to find different cards to do all of those things.

Any MagicBands that you have from previous vacations will automatically be linked to upcoming trips if they are all part of the same My Disney Experience account.  So any new tickets assigned to you will be linked to any previous MagicBands of yours.  The only issue you might run into is the battery life.  Disney says the battery should last up to two years on a MagicBand, but I have some from 5 years ago that still work.  The only way to test out your battery is to try and use your MagicBand.  If you find that it is dead, you can purchase new ones in any major gift shop at any theme park or Disney Resort hotel.

MagicBand+ is the newest edition that includes a little extra pixie dust while you're in the parks.  They interact with the Disney Fab 50 Character Collection statues.  My kids were having a great time at Magic Kingdom Park last weekend.  They loved feeling their MagicBand+ buzz on their wrist and seeing it light up.  They are especially fun during select nighttime entertainment where it the lights dance to the beautiful music.

Please stop back by and visit if you have any additional vacation planning questions.

    Have a magical day!
