    New to running, but a real Disney addict. Hoping to walk/run the princess in 2013 with my daughter. It will be our first we will have no previous times. How many runners in a corral/how many corrals? Will I be walking a mile just to the start line?

    Hi Suzi!  You just summed up what made me decide to buy my first pair of running shoes....the chance to run through Cinderella Castle!  You and your daughter would have a great time running the Princess.

    It's fine to not have a previous time listed, there are a large number of first-time racers at all runDisney events.  You may be placed in one of the later corrals, but I actually prefer to be there.  There seems to be less pressure to run fast, and not as much jockeying around for position on the opening roads where things can be a little tight.  The number of corrals and runners per corral will depend on how many racers runDisney accepts.  There are usually a couple of thousand runners per corral.  That sounds like a large number, but it is very easy to find your corral, and starting the corrals at different times helps so much at keeping the roads less crowded.

    There is a walk from the area where everyone first meets to check bags, etc. (this is also the finish line area).  I am not sure exactly how far it is.  I takes up to 20 minutes, but it is a very leisurely stroll.  I actually love the walk because it gives my muscles a chance to loosen up before beginning the race.  It's also a great time to chat with other racers as you head to the starting line.  Don't be surprised when you hear cheers and Disney songs being bellowed on the way over!  All of the runDisney races have a really festive atmosphere!  And you know if you get over 20,000 princesses together, you are going to hear some noise!
