    Hi there...I am new to runDisney and just registered for the Royal Family 5k on Feb. 23/13 and was wondering if my husband needs to purchase a "ChEAR Squad" package in order to be a spectator or if he can just watch from the sidelines for free?

    Hi Charlene!

    Welcome to the runDisney family!  I have a feeling you will quickly fall in love with running at Disney and will be planning to come back for another race before you even cross the finish line!

    Your husband does not need to purchase anything to view you at the race!  The chEAR squad is mainly for spectators of the half marathon that want to have a few "perks".  Spectators can also view the half marathon without being in the chEAR squad.  The chEAR squad just offers things like reserved seating, blankets, etc.
