    I am new to rundisney (actually running at all) I'll be participating inthe half marathon in January. I am bringing my family (husband, 2 teenagers) We have been to WDW ALOT but I dont understand the ChEAR squad or the Pasta in the park offerings?

    Hi Kristin!  Welcome the wonderful sport of running and especially, the family at runDisney!  You will be surprised at how much fun it is going to be and how you get to know others and really start feeling like a little family!

    The chEAR squad and Pasta in the Park events are both optional things you can do if you choose.  The chEAR squad has different level packages.  The top package offers priority seating in front of the castle to watch the runners and bleacher seats at the finish line.  It also offers access to the Race Retreat tent.  That is the biggest selling point for me.  Platinum chEAR squad members can use the climate controlled tent after the runners leave.  It has hot food, drinks, chairs, tables, sofas, bathrooms, character meetings, and more.  It is a great place for family and friends to hang around while waiting to watch you finish.

    You don't have to be on the chEAR squad to watch in Magic Kingdom.  Everyone can stand along Main Street to see their loved runs running.  It is the highlight of the race for me!  And everyone is also welcome in the finish area.

    The Pasta in the Park party is a buffet dinner.  There is a DJ, food, and drinks.  It's just a fun way to get your carbs in before your race and also to meet other people who are there to run!  Family and friends can buy tickets to that as well.
