Boo to You, Jessica!
I'm so excited to hear you're planning to attend my FAVORITE special event held at Walt Disney World Resort,
Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party! At the party, Guests enjoy special Character Greetings (Jack Skellington is so awesome!), the Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular, Happy HalloWishes Fireworks, Mickey's Boo-to-You Halloween Parade, and more. It's spooktacular fun for Guests of all ages!
I've looked over the general costume rules for the party, and also the rules specifically for Guests ages 14 and older. The two rules that may apply to a hoop skirt are:
- Layered costumes or costume props that surround the entire body are strongly discouraged and may be subject to additional security screening.
- Costumes may not reach or drag on the ground. (e.g., full-length Princess dresses)
First, you'll need to make sure your hoop skirt is of an acceptable length, according to the costume guidelines. If you're ushered through the metal detector and the skirt sets off the sensors, you'll be asked to step aside for a security officer to use a wand to scan you. Hopefully the costume you're planning will pass the test! (Be aware that with a hoop skirt, you may not be able to experience some of the attractions, as the dress may not fit within the seat restraints.)
I hope this helps, and that you have an awesome time at the party! Moms Panel Tip: Make sure to check with a Cast Member about any Photopass "Magic Shots" the night of the party - last year we got an awesome photo that looked like we were standing next to the Headless Horseman! There was also a Magic Shot where the Hitchhiking Ghosts from the Haunted Mansion "magically" appeared in our photo.
Have a magical day! - Diane W.
