New to planning a Magic Kingdom trip in Jan. for 1 day. When closer if looks like rain in forecast, is it possible to move our MK passes & LL Multi passes to the next day? If possible, is it probable there will be availability since off peak?

Hi there, Becky! Welcome to planDisney, and thanks for sharing your question with us.

That’s so exciting that you’re planning an awesome Disney day for January. What a way to kick off the new year! And you’ve picked the best theme park to visit (at least in my humble opinion). The Magic Kingdom has so many classic attractions, like Pirates of the Caribbean and Jungle Cruise, as well as new experiences like TRON Lightcycle / Run and Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. You’re going to have a magical time!

I’m happy to report that you can change the dates of your theme park tickets, as well as modify your Lightning Lane passes (both subject to availability). You can find the link to change the dates for your theme park tickets under “My Tickets & Passes” in the My Disney Experience mobile app, or if you are using the Walt Disney World website you can go to My Disney Experience, select “My Plans” and then scroll down to the “Tickets, Passes, & Memory Maker” tab. To change your Lightning Lane passes, you’ll want to select the Lightning Lane menu from the home screen of the My Disney Experience mobile app (you can also access this menu from the options menu) and there will be a link that allows you to modify your passes.

While you can modify the dates of your tickets and passes, remember that theme park tickets and Lightning Lane passes are non-refundable and subject to availability. You’re correct that late January is traditionally a less busy time to visit Walt Disney World, but you may not be able to get the same Lightning Lane reservations if you change the date of your visit.

I hope this information is helpful, Becky. As someone with multiple weather apps on their phone, I support keeping an eye on the forecast for your trip, but I’ll also add that I’ve had a great time visiting on rainy days. But whatever Mother Nature, or life in general, throws your way, you can take comfort in knowing that you can adjust your Walt Disney World plans.

Come right back if any other questions come up during your Disney vacation planning. You’re as welcome as can be at planDisney!

    Magical travels!
