New park hours starting 9/8. I have dining reservations at 6:30 at Epcot twice with the park closing at 7:00. Will I still be able to get transportation back to my resort when I complete my meal? No other times available for dinner now.

    Hello, Betty,

Thank you for sending your question to planDisney.  Your trip to Walt Disney World is almost a month away!  I know for me when I get close to the 30 day countdown, I get so distracted by Disney daydreams that it is hard to focus on anything else.  With your trip in September, you'll be able to enjoy the Taste of EPCOT International Food and Wine Festival, tooIt is a yummy way to sample your way through the world of food!

When you are visiting EPCOT and enjoying your dinner, don't worry about having to rush through your meal in order to catch a bus back to your resort. Bus transportation runs an hour after the theme parks close, so with your reservation at 6:30 PM, I think you should have plenty of time to both eat and to walk to the bus stop.  Walt Disney World is aware that many guests have later dining reservations, so they understand that there will be guests who will need transportation back to their resorts after the theme parks close.

If you would like a larger window of time to catch your resort bus home, you could stop by the restaurant to see if they could seat you earlier.  While I can't guarantee they would have room, I know that they will try to accommodate your request.  We've had luck with making those requests before.  Another option is to utilize a ride-sharing service like Lyft or Uber or a taxi to return to your resort as a back-up plan.

As you are preparing for your trip, you may want to take a look at some helpful information to Know Before You Go and make sure you have made your Theme Park Reservations beforehand.

Wishing you a magical trip!  Please let us know if you have any further questions. -Kara
