With the new park hopper rules and the inability to guarantee entry to the second park after 1:00 I’d be willing to just buy tickets to both parks (:() but will I be guaranteed entry if I have reservations to a park but don’t show up until 3pm?

Hello, Andrea! Welcome to planDisney and thanks for your question!

While it's true that admission into either theme park is not guaranteed and subject to capacity limitations, I haven't heard of a situation yet this year where guests have been denied the opportunity to park hop due to the parks being at capacity. The theme park reservation system that was put into place earlier this year allows the Disneyland Resort to keep a close eye on capacity numbers so they can plan ahead and not be forced to closed due to capacity constraints.

So I would definitely just purchase a Park Hopper ticket and plan to park hop after 1:00 p.m. I would also recommend that you make your theme park reservation to start at Disneyland Park as Disney California Adventure Park hardly ever reaches capacity and you should have no problem hopping there in the afternoon.

I hope you have a magical time at the Happiest Place on Earth!
