Hello to the new Mom's panel. Here's my question: When we booked our trip for June 27-July6 (Pop) they don't ask which room or section you want. I've heard that some rooms are too far from the bus or dining areas. Do we get to choose our room?

Jill, I know exactly how you feel!  With all of the walking you do in the park, you want walk as little as possible within your resort.  The preferred rooms are rooms that surround the main swimming pool.  These rooms are closest to the food court and the Pop Century Bus stops.  The prices of these rooms are slightly higher than the standard room rates.  To request a preferred room, contact a Disney Reservation Agent at 407-939-6244.

If you are on a tight budget, I would suggest requesting a room in either the 50s section or the 70s section.  These rooms are still fairly close to the food court, lobby, and buses.  Although there is no guarantee that you will get the room you ask for, Disney tries to honor guest requests.

Keep in mind that you are traveling at peak season, and Pop Century is a popular resort.  Being in a room away from the main pool might be a blessing.  You may have to walk a little further to get to the buses, but your room may be a little quieter away from all of the action.

Good luck with your planning and have a magical trip!

Meet the Panelist: Diane, Georgia

After spending 25 years in RI, my husband and I relocated to GA with our youngest, who is now in high school. I took my first trip to Walt Disney World when I was 11 and I have traveled many times since then with all different party sizes. From creating our first itinerary as a honeymooner to later creating magical experiences for our multigenerational family gatherings, every aspect of planning a vacation has been pure joy to me.  Learn More About Diane
