Hi, with the new opening show at MK, does the train still start running at 9am? Coming at end of July and was planning on catching train to frontier land right at 9am. Worked out great last year! Thanks!

Hello Connie!  Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

The Walt Disney World Railroad is an unappreciated gem of an attraction, the best place for resting little legs and Magic Kingdom's unheralded internal transportation service.

There was something special about seeing Mickey and the Gang round the bend on a Steam Train during the old Welcome Show at Magic Kingdom.  With the new Let the Magic Begin Welcome Show at Magic Kingdom, the Walt Disney World Railroad officially opens with the rest of the attractions at the opening of Magic Kingdom.

As of this writing, the Walt Disney World Railroad is not officially listed as a participating attraction during Extra Magic Hours as a benefit of staying at a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel.

The new Let the Magic Begin Welcome Show grants Guests access to Main Street, U.S.A. roughly 25-45 minutes before official Theme Park opening with several stores and Main Street Bakery open for early snacking and shopping.

Scheduled attractions at Magic Kingdom are subject to change without notice, however the operating times for the Walt Disney World Railroad coincide with Theme Park Hours and the Train should be whistling down the track shortly after Magic Kingdom opens.

    Happy Travels!
