Ahoy, Amy! Welcome to planDisney and thanks for sailing over with your Disney Cruise Line question. I’m always happy to help out a fellow
Castaway Club member from Virginia.
Rotational dining has always been a standout feature found aboard the Disney Cruise Line fleet with themed dining rooms and menus providing guests with opportunities for new experiences each night of their sailing. Those dining experiences that guests have come to love will still be offered across the fleet, but the menus aboard the Disney Magic, Disney Wonder, Disney Dream, and Disney Fantasy are undergoing some updates. The most noticeable changes are in the way that the menus are organized. All of the appetizers, soups, and salads are now consolidated into a section called “Small Plates.” Then a section labeled “Entrees” has replaced the options that were previously divided into Main Course, Vegetarian, and Lighter Note Offerings. Plus, you can now see all of the delicious “Desserts” in the main menu, instead of waiting for a separate dessert menu or looking it up on the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator App.
In addition to the menu organization overhaul, there are some changes to the food offerings as well. The Lighter Note Offerings from past menus are no longer included in the new menus, except for the steak option which has been added to the list of entrees. Since the new menus are just being rolled out, dining room policies are still being updated. You can certainly still ask your dining team about the salmon option, but it will be subject to availability and may require advance notice to ensure preparation. Additionally, if you have allergies or dietary restrictions, then be sure to discuss your needs with your dining team on embarkation day.
I know that wasn’t the news you were hoping for, but try to remember what Rafiki tells us: “change is good.” Plus you never know what may be on the horizon when it comes to Disney Cruise Line. If you have any other questions, feel free to reach back out to us at planDisney. Happy sailing!
