Hey Aaron!
A warm welcome to planDisney. Thank you for sending us your magical question about
Disney Genie service and
Disability Access Service (DAS) at Walt Disney World Resort.
Aaron, I am thrilled to tell you that the DAS program has not been discontinued, nor will it be discontinued when Disney Genie service is implemented later this fall. In fact, there are plans to enhance DAS in Walt Disney World Resort soon!
This fall, two new features will be added to DAS. They are as follows:
1. Guests will have the opportunity to pre-register via live video call and use DAS Advance pre-arrival planning.
2. Instead of having to physically go to an attraction or to a kiosk to obtain a return time from a Cast Member, Guests will have a convenient, new way to select DAS return times directly through the
My Disney Experience mobile app.
Isn’t that magical and convenient, Aaron? Additionally, existing, in-person DAS program features will still be available for Guests who wish to continue using the DAS program upon their arrival at the Walt Disney World Resort theme parks.
Aaron, I encourage you to
visit this page which highlights some of the new features being implemented to the DAS program this fall.
I hope I have helped answer your question. If you have any other questions or need additional help navigating all of these new and exciting changes, we are always hEAR to help you! You ain’t never had friends like planDisney, Aaron!
Wishing you a Magical Vacation,
Priscila
