Hi Alycia, and welcome to planDisney! First off, congratulations on your recent wedding to your Prince Charming, and what a great idea to celebrate Valentine’s Day at
Walt Disney World. That sounds like the perfect way to kick off this new chapter together.
I really enjoy questions like yours because, while I absolutely love the firework spectaculars, especially
Happily Ever After, my little ones aren’t the biggest fans of the loud booms. So over time, I’ve done quite a bit of research to find the best spots where we can still enjoy the view and atmosphere without the intensity of the sound.
Alycia, this may surprise you, but I actually think the best places to enjoy a romantic meal with fireworks are outside of Magic Kingdom Park. Two of my favorite options are
California Grill at Disney’s Contemporary Resort and
Narcoossee’s at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. Both offer outstanding dishes, great ambiance, and beautiful views of Cinderella Castle in the distance. When the fireworks begin, you can either watch from your table or step outside to take it all in. California Grill has an observation deck, and Narcoossee’s has a waterfront dock where the fireworks reflect beautifully across Seven Seas Lagoon. The music from the show is piped in, so you’ll feel fully immersed in the experience, just without the crowds or the volume.
If you can’t secure a reservation at those spots, Hakuna Matata! Try
Steakhouse 71 at the Contemporary or
Grand Floridian Café at the Grand Floridian. After dining, step outside to the resort viewing areas. From the fourth-floor observation deck at the Contemporary or the marina at the Grand Floridian, you’ll have wonderful views of the fireworks in a peaceful setting.
Another personal favorite of mine is to head over to the beach area at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. You can grab a DOLE Whip from
Pineapple Lanai or a cocktail from
Trader Sam’s Tiki Terrace, sink into an Adirondack chair, and watch the fireworks over the lagoon. The reflections on the water and the quiet atmosphere make it one of the most relaxing and romantic places on the property. And yes, the music is piped in here, too!
Alycia, if you’d like help planning the rest of your visit or want some other dining recommendations, stop back here at planDisney and
send another question my way. As a self-proclaimed Disney foodie, I’d be more than happy to share a few of my favorite restaurants across the parks and resorts to help make your Valentine’s celebration unforgettable.
Wishing you both a wonderful evening and a lifetime of happiness (and Disney visits),
Brent
