Hi June!
Welcome back to planDisney! We often split up on our trips as well. My teenage boys like to go off on their own, while my husband and I hang out with our school-age daughter. This summer, my sons, who often drive each other crazy at home, had a great time going off on their own in the parks. One morning they rode
Expedition Everest - Legend of the Forbidden Mountain four times in a row! It warmed my mama heart to see them enjoying each other’s company, setting up their expert park touring plans, and having fun together. Disney truly is magical!
Hakuna Matata means no worries, June! Disney has thought about families like ours when designing their new Genie+ service. You will be able to select different options for different family members, just like you could with the now-retired FastPass+ service. This should work out nicely for families that like to split up. The teenagers can select one Lightning Lane attraction while you and the preschoolers chose another! You don’t all need to select the same attraction.
Disney’s Genie, Genie+, and Lightning Lane are scheduled to begin this fall, and I know many of our planDisney Panelists are excited to try it out so we can bring our personal experience here to help Guests like you, June! Please feel free to send us any additional questions that you have, and I recommend stopping back after Disney’s Genie+ begins to see what our Panelists have to say about it, and any recommendations about making the most of your time in the parks with this exciting new option!
Happy Planning!
- Kate
