New to DVC, 7 mth window is almost here. If I want to change resorts, & book same dates, does it automatically cancel my current res., or will it take points for both bookings? Also, 2 ad. DS9, 14, & DD5. Should I go for VWL 1BR or AKL-KV 2BR? Than

    Hi Jennifer,

Let me be one of the first to welcome you home to Disney Vacation Club!

If you would like to change your resort at the seven-month window, I suggest calling Disney Vacation Club Member Services at 1-800-800-9800. The cast members there will walk you through this process. If there is availability at the resort that you want, you will be able to change your current reservation to the new resort. You will not be charged points for both bookings. Just be sure to tell the cast member to cancel the original reservation. If there is not currently availability at the new resort that you want, you can be placed on the wait list for that resort. If the accommodation in the new resort that you want becomes available, you will be automatically moved. When you discuss this with the cast member, tell them that you want your initial reservation canceled when this happens, and discuss how to handle the differential in vacation club points, if there is one. Please ask if you would like more information on this; however, I am limited in space and want to get to your resort choices!

Your traveling party will not fit in a one-bedroom villa at The Villas at Disney's Wilderness Lodge. Those only sleep up to four people, so you would have to got to a two-bedroom villa. At Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas, there are one-bedroom villas which can accommodate five guests. Be sure to indicate to the cast member when you are making a reservation that you have five guests. My suggestion for you all would be a one-bedroom villa at Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas - they are quite large.

Please do ask more questions if you have them as you begin to use your Disney Vacation Club membership, Jennifer!
