Hi. We are new DVC members thinking about adding add'l points at GF. If we do, do we now have two home resorts? If yes, can we book ALL our combined points at one of our homes at 11 months or just the portion that is purchased for that resort? Thanks!

    Hi Susan,

The Villas at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa look absolutely gorgeous.  I can understand why you are thinking about adding on points there!  Current Disney Vacation Club members can now purchase Disney Vacation Club Points with a home resort of this beautiful new property.

If you did purchase points at The Villas at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa, and you already have points at another resort, you would then have two home resorts.  You can book 11 months ahead at a home resort using only the vacation points on that contract. So, for example, let's say that your current home resort is Disney's Beach Club Villas, and that you have 300 vacation points there.  You decide to purchase 100 vacation points at The Villas at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa.  You could book 11 months ahead at Disney's Beach Club Villas using your 300 points from the first contract, and you could book 11 months ahead at The Villas at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa using the 100 points from the second contract.  You cannot combine the two contracts to book 400 points at 11 months ahead at The Villas at Grand Floridian Resort and Spa.  If you wanted to use more than 100 vacation points for booking at The Villas at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa, you would need to bank or borrow points from that second contract.

I hope that this information helps, Susan.  If you would like more information about adding on points, I recommend that you call your Disney Vacation Club Guide using the number on his or her business card, or you can call 1-800-800-9100 to be connected with a Disney Vacation Club Guide.  Please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions!
