We are new DVC members planning a three generation family trip in December. What are the pros and cons to renting three separate rooms, or one three bedroom space? Other tips for multi-generational trips?

    Hi Bethany!

Welcome to the Disney Vacation Club family! Becoming a member is one of the best decisions I've ever made, and I hope it's the same for you.

It sounds like the whole family is in for a wonderful vacation and while planning for such a large group can be stressful, hopefully you can relax and enjoy your time together once all of your plans are in place. There are several things to consider when choosing your resort hotel accommodations. First, three separate rooms would definitely provide everyone with their own space and privacy, and you would also probably use fewer points on three deluxe studios. However, a larger villa would have all of the comforts of home like a full size kitchen and a washer and dryer. Depending on the exact number of people in your group, you might possibly even be able to stay in a two bedroom villa as some of them sleep up to nine adults. And some of the two bedroom villas like those at Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas - Kidani Village and Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort even have three full bathrooms. Another option might be for you to book a two bedroom villa and a deluxe studio. That way you would have the amenities of the large villa and still have enough room for everyone to sleep comfortably.

As for tips on multi-generational trips, I think the most important advice would be to try to find things that everyone can enjoy together and then feel free to split up so that everyone can do their must-do attractions.

    Wishing you a magical trip!
