New DVC members, booked 1st DVC trip at AKL this Nov and are planning a Poly trip Sept 2026. Between the two trips, we plan to spend 8-11 days at the parks. We're considering if a Sorcerer's pass makes sense or just multi-day tix, any advice?

Hey There, Hi There, Ho There, Patrick!

You are as welcome as can be here at planDisney! How exciting that you have not just one, but TWO Disney trips planned.  There is just so much magic to enjoy; it's always a good idea to have another trip to look forward to.

Patrick, welcome to the neighborhood! As a Disney Vacation Club Member for the last 22 years, I love chatting with new Members about all the perks and benefits of being a DVC Member. One of them is the option for eligible Members - those who are eligible for Member Extras - to purchase the Disney Sorcerer Pass, which is the pass exclusively for Disney Vacation Club Members and Florida Residents. This Annual Pass is a significant savings, and depending on your plans, it can be the practically perfect way to add more magic to your Disney vacation.

I have been in a similar situation, Patrick, where I was trying to decide if I should purchase the Disney Sorcerer Pass, and I ultimately decided it was well worth it. What I would recommend is to first look at the ticket prices (even as they are today) for your two trips. For example, if you are thinking of a 4 or 5-day ticket for one trip and a 5-6 day ticket for your next trip, see what those prices are as single park tickets and for Park Hopper tickets. Next, I would check the Sorcerer Pass blockout dates. There aren't many; however, there are a few, and you will want to make sure that those blockout dates are not when you are planning to visit Walt Disney World in November 2025 and September 2026.

My hunch tells me you will likely find the Disney Sorcerer Pass is going to be the more economical option if you are able to use it for both of your trips.  You will be able to use your Sorcerer Pass from the date you activate it until it expires, which is typically one year from your activation date.

Additionally, as a Disney Annual Passholder, you get extra perks, like discounts on select dining and merchandise, events, and even sometimes special room rates for cash-paying rooms. You also get extra perks from time to time, when offered, such as special treats exclusively available to Annual Passholders, special previews, and more.  If you are both an eligible DVC Member and an Annual Passholder, I always recommend mentioning both at all dining and merchandise locations at Walt Disney World. Sometimes the Annual Passholder discount is greater than the DVC one, so having both ensures you have even more pixie dust in your pocket!

Now, as an Annual Passholder, you may need to make a theme park reservation when visiting the parks. But this is as easy as saying "Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo." Mickey and friends just need to keep track of how many Guests are visiting on any given day.

I hope this is helpful for you, Patrick! And again, welcome to the happiest Membership on earth. If you have any more Disney Vacation Club questions, soar back here to see me and I'll be so happy to help you.

    Magically Yours,
    Keri
