I am a new DVC member, and after doing a little snooping around online I found that DVC members don't get daily "mousekeeping" like non-DVC members get. I feel like I am kinda getting jipped. Why is it like this, and what else do we miss on for i

Howdy Mae!  Welcome to the DVC!!   I was giddy when I became a Member!  There was so much information my Guide shared with me that quickly became a blur.  However, I do remember initialing a checklist showing that I understood the housekeeping process.

I checked the Vacation Planner that is mailed to us and it says, daily housekeeping service is not provided at DVC Resorts.  1, 2 and 3 Bedroom Villas are equipped with a washer and dryer, so you can keep towels, linens, and your travel clothes fresh and clean.  Members staying in Deluxe Studios or Inn Rooms have complimentary use of washer and dryers located at the resort.

This was something that I had to get used to but now I actually prefer it!  I always pack laundry detergent and wash my towels and clothes as needed.  Because the Villas are more like a home than a hotel room, I can actually relax more when I am on vacation and staying in a DVC Resort.  My children turn the living room into a playroom.  We will have princesses and pirates staged throughout our Villa and when we return, our children (and their imaginations) take off from where they were and their adventures continue.  It’s really the best of all worlds!

In talking with DVC, I found out that daily housekeeping is generally not standard within the industry.  Also, maintaining the 4 day rotation helps control the cost of Membership.

If daily mousekeeping is a necessity, you can request daily service for an additional fee.  Details are available on the Member website. If you need any further information, please let me know.

Please don’t let this one little hiccup ruin a wonderful experience for you!  You have made a fabulous decision by becoming a DVC Member and you are going to make a lifetime of magical memories!!
