    Maggie from FL Asked

With the new Disneyworld passes, will the date start I purchase them or the first time I visit the parks?

Hey there, Maggie! Welcome to planDisney. I'm glad you've stopped by to chat about the all-new Walt Disney World Annual Passes!

Maggie, wasn't the announcement about the sale of new Annual Passes opening up on September 8th so exciting? I know so many people have been eagerly awaiting the news. I've been a Walt Disney World Annual Passholder for years now and I can honestly say that it is well worth the investment. I was very interested in finding out about all of the new annual pass offerings. Being a Florida resident, Maggie, you have the most options to choose from. Walt Disney World sort of re-themed all of their Annual Pass tiers.

Here are the new options and a brief overview:

    • Disney Pixie Dust Pass - visit most weekdays and hold 3 park pass reservations at a time (Florida residents only)
    • Disney Pirate Pass - visit most days with holiday and peak time blackout dates and hold up to 4 park pass reservations at a time  (Florida residents only)
    • Disney Sorcerer Pass - visit most days with blackout dates over holidays and hold up to 5 park pass reservations at a time (Florida residents only)
    • Disney Incredi-Pass - no blackout dates and hold up to 5 park pass reservations at a time (Open to everyone)
Whichever annual pass you choose, Maggie, your year countdown clock does not begin until the first use of your pass. So you can buy them when they go on sale in just a few days and then not activate your pass until your next visit to the Walt Disney World Theme Parks.

I hope this helps! I'm excited that you might be joining the Walt Disney World Annual Pass family very soon. If you have other questions about annual passes or anything else, please feel free to stop back by and ask me. I'm happy to help. Have a great day!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
