Welcome to planDisney, Jessica! I'm so glad you found us to help plan your first visit to the Walt Disney World Resort! As a cheer mom, I know how exciting it is to watch our teams perform; I've attended Varsity-sponsored events for both of my daughters over the years, so I'm happy to offer you some guidance on how to plan for this most magical memory in the making!
Jessica, it looks like your team will be competing at Varsity's UCA All-Star National Championship at
ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in March, and I was able to find package information posted directly on Varsity's website for this event. From the event page, click on
Athletes and Fans Registration to get all the updates, options, and cost details to help you plan your trip! In taking a look, options include travel packages with accommodations at either
Disney's All-Star Music Resort or
Disney's All-Star Sports Resort. The Varsity travel packages bundle your theme park tickets and admission to the competition events with your Disney Resort hotel reservation and are booked and paid directly through Varsity. The travel package also offers complimentary bus transportation to all competition events and access to some extended evening theme park hours exclusively for athletes and spectators on these packages. You will need to reach out to your team's travel coordinator to get the registration ID number to complete your online booking.
If you choose not to book a complete travel package, Varsity does offer discounted theme park tickets for commuting teams and fans, as well as extras like meal vouchers and tickets for the Varsity Celebration Party which is scheduled for the Sunday night of your competition at
Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park. This is a celebration event that creates such a unique atmosphere of camaraderie and spirit to celebrate the achievements of competing at nationals! The event will feature dance parties, DJs, and select attractions to enjoy as all the teams come together to party!
Jessica, as a first-time visitor, I'd love to offer a few tips to help your planning:
- Download the My Disney Experience mobile app and create your account if you haven't already. The app allows you to link your resort reservations and theme park tickets to your mobile device and has useful features like maps, mobile food and beverage ordering, and wait times to help you navigate the parks.
- Check out the Disney Parks Blog to find all the latest news and announcements about events, special offers, and other exciting Disney news as you count down the days to your trip!
- Come back to planDisney anytime if you have more questions! We're real-life guests just like you who are always happy to share our best advice, insights, and tips to help you have the best vacation possible! We even have a bank of extras that you can check out and welcome you to follow us on Instagram!
Jessica, I hope this helps, and I'm wishing you and your team a magical visit and a successful competition!
Here's to making magic and hitting zero,
Alison
