New to Diner Dollars—I got $40 from a booking. I’ve seen people say they’re limited to certain places or not usable in the park, but I see a Disney gift card option when I log in. Is that new? Can I use it like cash in the park if I redeem for one?

Hey there, hi there, Taylor! Welcome back to planDisney. We are so glad you stopped by with your planning question for us!

Your magical visit to Disneyland Resort is just a few weeks away! It sounds like you have been planning and possibly purchased a vacation package or bundle somewhere for your upcoming visit. The program you are inquiring about is not affiliated with Disneyland, so I cannot provide details on it. I always suggest that you reach out to where you purchased your package if you have questions or concerns. If it is true that you can redeem for Disney Gift Cards, that would be a fantastic option. Disney Gift Cards work like any other type of gift card and can be redeemed at most locations, such as shopping and food locations throughout the resort.

I love using Disney Gift Cards for my visits. I always suggest loading your Disney Gift Cards onto the Disney Gift Card website ahead of a trip. It makes it easy to check the balances of your cards. My pro tip for Disney Gift Card users is to add the gift card number to the notes section of your phone. One of my favorite features of the Disneyland app is being able to mobile order our snacks and meals. There is no option to save a Disney Gift Card in your profile, only credit cards. Saving the gift card number makes it easy to copy and paste that number during your checkout process.

Taylor, thanks again for bringing us another question! See you real soon!

Meet the Panelist: Carrie, California

Well hello there, friend! I'm Carrie, a work-from-home mom and military wife who currently calls sunny San Diego home. You'll find my family in the parks braving drops and coasters to work up our appetite to take as many snack breaks as we can. While Disneyland is our home away from home, we love trying to make a Walt Disney World Resort vacation happen at least once a year now too. All my friends know I'm the go-to for Disney advice, so I'm here to help you plan and experience the magic on your visit! Learn More About Carrie
