Hi, there!
Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Alison. We just love helping you plan your visit to the Walt Disney World Resort!
I'm glad you've heard that recent updates have been made to
Disney's Rider Switch Service. The new electronic system integrates with a Guest's MagicBand, ticket, and My Disney Experience to make for a more convenient experience. As before, everyone in your party will need to approach the greeting Cast Member at an eligible attraction to request to use Disney's Rider Switch. If the members of the first group to ride have a FastPass+ for that particular attraction, they may enter the FastPass+ line. The adult waiting with the non-rider will be issued a Rider Switch entitlement on their MagicBand permitting them to enter the FastPass+ line with up to two Guests. Therefore, the members of the second group to ride do not need a FastPass+ to bypass the Standby line; the Rider Switch entitlement will gain them entrance to the FastPass+ line. My dear friend and fellow panelist,
Veronica, recently shared her experience with the updated Rider Switch Service. I hope you find it as helpful as I do!
Alison, be sure to download the brand-new
Play Disney Parks App prior to your arrival. With Disney trivia and interactive games that sync with select attractions, this app is TONS of fun. I especially love the official playlists!
Thanks for stopping by, Alison. Please visit us again soon with any new questions you may have!
