Hiya, Christopher! Welcome to planDisney.
I'm so glad to hear that you've heard all about the
pixie dusted perks returning for Guests of the Disneyland Resort Hotels, including Early Entry! With 30 extra minutes to enjoy the parks before the official opening, you can get a jump start and head to a favorite attraction or take some iconic pictures in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle or the seasonal favorite giant Mickey pumpkin at the top of Main Street, U.S.A.!
Storytellers Cafe is one of my favorite restaurants on property. The sweeping ceilings and Craftsman-style architecture are grand, but the atmosphere is casual and cozy. It sounds like you are enjoying Mickey's Tales of Adventure Breakfast Buffet, which is a great way to say hi to some favorite friends before hitting the parks!
Character Greetings have returned, so Mickey and the gang will be ready with high-fives and hugs! While the entrance from
Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa to
Disney California Adventure Park is reserved for hotel Guests, you are welcome to use the entrance that goes directly into
Downtown Disney District. It's just a quick walk from there to the Main Entrance Gates.
If you are able to make it for Early Entry, keep in mind that not all lands and attractions will be open for those bonus minutes. If you have your heart set on a particular experience, you may want to ask a Cast Member upon entry if that attraction or land is open before you head straight there. You'll also be happy to know that if you find that perfect souvenir or memento while you're enjoying your day, you can have it delivered directly to your hotel for next day delivery!
Christopher, happy haunts await! Be sure to take in all the magic of the Halloween season ... and all the sweet treats which I know will be SPOOK-tacular! Keep your eyes peeled on the
Disney Parks Blog as they usually release a Halloween Time Foodie Guide so you can EARmark a few to try ahead of your trip.

Boo to you!
