Will the new attractions at Animal Kingdom be accessible to guests in scooters? In the previews, I saw lots of steps. My husband and I love Disney and go at least once a year. My husband had back surgery and a hip replacement. I appreciate your advice.

    Hi Deborah!

So many of us have been waiting for this exciting opening of Pandora-The World of Avatar in the Animal KIngdom Park. The grand opening is coming soon on May 27. Although none of us have experienced the new land a few will get a chance at some sneak previews so we can help our guests more.

I can assist you with the information about accessibility with the attractions. There will be two rides that will be FastPass options and those are the Na'vi River Journey and Avatar: Flight of Passage. Both of these will require those in wheelchairs and ECV's to transfer to a ride vehicle. There will be cast members present to direct you to the location where you can do this as easily as possible.

The Na'vi River Journey is a family ride on a boat through some gorgeous scenes while the Avatar: Flight of Passage is more of a new thrill ride. Since your husband has had recent surgeries you might want to check with a cast member at the attraction to learn what exactly happens during the ride to decide if it is good for him to experience.

There will also be the Valley of Mo'ana where you can walk and use the ECV to wander among the floating mountains and explore this unbelievable new land. I can't wait to try some of the foods that will be offered too.
