From one Annual Passholder to another, welcome back to planDisney, Lauren!
I love being able to drive around Walt Disney World Resort in my own vehicle. My car is no Lightning McQueen, but it’s fun to zoom from one place to another on my own time. (This isn’t to say that I don’t like the various complimentary modes of transportation that Disney offers—you
must add a relaxing ride in a
Disney Skyliner gondola to your list!) Let’s talk about all-things-parking at The Most Magical Place on Earth.
As a Walt Disney World
Annual Passholder, you get free parking at the theme parks. Woohoo! If you’d like to upgrade to preferred parking, you’ll have to pay the difference. But other than that, just drive up to a parking attendant, show them your annual pass (and usually, a photo ID), and you’re good to go.
Now, when it comes to parking at the Disney Resorts Collection hotels, this is also complimentary (unless you use the valet). But there’s a catch: Parking at the hotels is not guaranteed for Guests who are not staying at the particular hotel. And if you want to park at one of these awesome locations, it’s best practice to have an advance dining reservation or another Resort hotel experience booked. Sometimes you can simply tell the Cast Member at the gate that you will be visiting to explore the grounds and to shop; however, it is up to their discretion to allow you to park.
Lauren, please
give us a holler here at planDisney if you have additional Disney vacation planning questions. Any of the panelists will be happy to lend a Mickey hand.
Magic always,
LeAndra
