Ahoy, Karen!
Welcome aboard the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I'm so excited for your inaugural cruise sailing the high seas with Captain Mickey! The Disney Magic is such a gorgeous ship. The Disney Magic was actually my first Disney Cruise vessel, too!
I checked out the itineraries sailing from New York in November and believe you're either heading to the Bahamas or to the Eastern Caribbean. Either location will hopefully give you tons of sunshine and warm weather! For example, the average November temperatures in Nassau range from the high 60's to low 80's. When you set sail out of New York, it will likely be chilly so I suggest bringing a jacket to wear while walking around on deck during the evenings. Still bring your swimsuit, though! Disney Cruise Line keeps the
pools onboard heated to at least 75 degrees.
I understand your nerves regarding the motion of the ocean. The last thing you want is to feel ill during your voyage to paradise! We've stayed on Deck 8 multiple times aboard the Disney Magic and Disney Wonder and did not find the motion to be intense. With that being said, each person is different and each cruise is different so I suggest packing some over-the-counter Dramamine, just in case you need it! Another option is to wear a motion sickness band. Lastly, if you're feeling ill, don't hesitate to visit the
Health Center onboard, located on Deck 1, Forward.
Karen, I'm so excited for your upcoming November cruise! We want your inaugural cruise to be as smooth sailing as possible so please visit us again with more questions!
