If my nephew buys standard Disney resort tickets, my understanding is he can gift them and does not need to be present. Arenreservation dates still required?

Hello there, Nikia. Welcome to planDisney.

Your nephew can gift your standard theme park tickets to the Walt Disney World Resort and he does not need to be present at the parks for you to use them. However, if he is a Florida Resident, it's important to note that he cannot purchase Florida-resident theme park tickets for you as those are exclusively for Florida residents. In fact, any Guest 18 years of age or older would need to prove their Florida residency when picking up those tickets. So as long as they aren't Florida resident tickets, he can follow the Gifting Tickets guidelines on the website, input your information (as listed on your government-issued photo ID), and check off that "this order will be a gift." Make sure that he does this more than 2 days before you are going to use these tickets as they may not be ready in time if he does it any later than that. Also, as long as he is purchasing date-based tickets, meaning he selects a specific window of dates from a calendar as to when the tickets can be used, you are not required to make Theme Park Reservations at this time.

I see that you are planning to arrive at the resort in late June, so you'll probably be at the theme parks when Tiana's Bayou Adventure opens on June 28, 2024 in Magic Kingdom Park. When it opens, it will be using a Virtual Queue system, so make sure that your tickets are linked to My Disney Experience and that everyone is connected to you through the My Family & Friends list. This way, you can try for a Boarding Group exactly at 7 a.m. as I'm sure they will go fast. If you don't get a spot in the 7 a.m. drop, you'll have another opportunity at 1 p.m. as long as you are in Magic Kingdom Park. Of course, you can always purchase the Disney Genie+ Service to try to reserve a Lightning Lane for this attraction. For your best chances of success, you'll want to ensure you've purchased the service before 7 a.m. and you're on the My Disney Experience mobile app exactly at 7 a.m. to reserve a Lightning Lane. I don't know about you, but I've been following along with all the updates (but avoiding spoilers as much as possible) and I can't wait to go down the bayou!

If you have any other questions, be sure to reach out to me.

The only thing required is to be true to the very unique thing that makes you you,
    Matt
