My nephew has autism and can't wait in lines. If he qualifies for the DAS would it be for our entire party of 8? I was told it would only cover 6, is this something they could make an exception for? We would all like to stay together if possible.

    Hello Carole!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. As a parent of a child with Autism, I am so incredibly thankful for the Disability Access Service. One of the things that I love most about Walt Disney World is their commitment to assisting guests of all abilities.

Once your nephew arrives at a Walt Disney World Theme Park, have the entire party stop by a Guest Relations Main Entrance location to discuss his specific needs. The Guest Relations Cast Member will work with your family and based on his specific needs, Disability Access Service or other accommodations may be provided. If they provide a Disability Access Service, your nephew and parent/guardian will have to participate in the registration process.

At this point, the Disability Access Service allows up to 6 guests (which would include your nephew) access to this service. While there are no guarantees, you may want to explain the situation to the Guest Relations Cast Member to see if there are any other accommodations that can be made regarding your party size.

One last tip: be sure to take full advantage of the Disney FastPass+ service. By linking your travel party in My Disney Experience and making your FastPass+ selections ahead of time, you will be able to keep your travel party together for some of your favorite attractions! FastPass+ selections can be made 60 days in advance of your arrival if you are staying at the Walt Disney World Resort or 30 days in advance of your arrival if you are staying outside of Walt Disney World Resort.

Wishing you and your extended family a magical time!
