what needs to be done in order to check in for my Disney Cruise

    Ahoy, Vicki!

Welcome to planDisney, and thanks for sailing by with a great question about the online check-in process. It looks like your Disney Cruise Line vacation is quickly approaching – how exciting! Let’s look at what you need to be in ship shape for this trip.

You are eligible to begin the online check-in process at the following days in advance of your sailing, based on your Castaway Club membership status, and if your cruise is paid in full:

    • First time Disney cruiser: 30 days
    • Silver member: 33 days
    • Gold member: 35 days
    • Platinum member: 38 days
    • Pearl member: 40 days

Once the clock strikes midnight (EST) on that magical day, you are eligible to begin the online check-in process. I suggest you gather all required documents and photographs in advance for ease of completing this process, though it can be done in multiple sessions if you need to save progress and return later.

Log into the Disney Cruise Line website or Disney Cruise Line Navigator App and select “Begin Online Check-In." You’ll find an intuitive process with the following information to complete:

    • Guest Information: contact information, travel documents, and security photos for each member of your travel party
    • Travel Plans: any flight or travel information before and after your cruise
    • Onboard Account: save a credit card for charges to your stateroom during the cruise
    • Traveling with Children: essential forms and permissions when traveling with minors
    • Port Arrival Time: select an arrival time once all other steps are complete
    • Cruise Contract: review the details and accept the terms and conditions for travel

You’ll need clear photos of your travel documentation as well as a forward facing, simple headshot photo of each family member (this can be a smartphone photo) for security. Your security photo cannot be the same image as on your passport or travel documentation.

When finished, you will receive notification once Disney has approved your documentation and a notice if they need anything else to finalize with you prior to travel. You can print your Port Arrival Form (emailed to you at the end of online check-in) with a handy QR code or add the digital form to your Apple wallet for presenting at the port terminal.

I hope this helps you know what to expect, Vicki. It looks like a lot but is quite seamless and quick once you get into the steps. Please don’t hesitate to call Disney Cruise Line if you have issues during the process or let us know how else we can help you make the most of this trip.

    Wishing you a magical sailing!
