Do I need a travel agent? Do they get access to any better deals than we see online? I started talks with a travel agent and the price she quoted me was what I found using the online reservation system. Also, when will some new deals come out?

    Hi Hollie!

I'm a huge fan of using an Authorized Disney Vacation Planner.  I never was until a few years ago when I decided to see how the process worked.  What I have discovered over the years is that they never do any worse than I could do on my own (and at no cost to me), but they sometimes could do better.  Also, if a new discount code comes out and there's only a limited number of rooms allowed using a particular code, they generally did a better job getting it applied to my reservation before I could.  Quite simply, that's because they knew about it long before I did and could apply it instantly, while I might not even find out about it until it's too late and no longer any good!  Several times, I've received a "we just saved you money" e-mail that surprised me, because they applied a new discount before I even asked them to!

With regards to when new deals will come out, that's hard to determine.  If you think about it, Disney really only offers deals to get guests to stay in Walt Disney World Resort hotels.  It really comes down to supply and demand.  When demand is perceived by Disney to be low, then there might be new discounts.  However, there's no guarantees!

Enjoy planning and write back if you have any more questions!
