Welcome to planDisney and thanks for bringing your question to us! I see that you're planning ahead for a trip to the Disneyland Resort next year! I think that the planning stage can be just as fun because it just increases the anticipation for your upcoming visit and I'd be happy to provide more information on the ticket buying process.
When you purchase
Theme Park Tickets through the
Disneyland website, you will first be asked to select the number of days that you would like to visit (from one up to five days). Then you will need to select the number of adult (10+ yr.) and children's tickets (3-9 yr.) that you will need. If you have any children that are less than 3 yr. of age, they are free of charge!
The next important choice will be whether or not you would like
Park Hopper Tickets or if you are content with visiting one Park per Day. Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure are adjacent to one another, so it's really easy to walk from one to the other. Guests with Park Hopper Tickets may begin Park Hopping after 11 a.m. and may hop back and forth at will throughout the day. The Park Hopper option will add this feature to your entire ticket.
You will then choose your reservation dates. Reservations are released on a rolling basis 120 days in advance, so mark your calendar and be sure to purchase your tickets with plenty of time to spare! Reservations will automatically be made for you after the transaction. You'll then need to pick your starting Park for each date.
Finally, you'll get to decide whether or not you'd like to add the phenomenal cosmic power of
Genie+. This will add the feature to your entire ticket and it allows you and your party to utilize the Lightning Lane entrances for certain attractions, therefore bypassing the standby queues and saving you tons of time for more fun! And as a bonus, all
Disney PhotoPass picture downloads are included with Genie+, so feel free to have those friendly Disney PhotoPass photographers snap away!

dining reservations 60 days in advance of your visit, so start planning out some restaurants! I'd recommend taking a look at the
