Hello, Debbi and welcome to planDisney where we always believe Peter Pan when he sang, "
When there's a smile in your heart, there's no better time to start."
I'm so glad you dropped by with this question as you're planning how to best arrive at
Magic Kingdom Park. First, Debbi, your hunch is correct. With
enhanced health and safety procedures in effect all around the Walt Disney World Resort, entrance to Disney Resort Hotels is restricted to those guests with an overnight reservation or to day guests with an advanced dining reservation.
Debbi, while this will preclude you from taxiing right up to
Disney's Contemporary Resort to take advantage of the walkway, Peter Pan's spirit abounds and as he was always creative, I'll offer up two ideas that might just help make your dreams come true.
Disney's Contemporary Resort is one of my favorite Disney Resort Hotels and a large part of that love comes from
its dining options. My family and I will often start our park day with a hearty breakfast before heading to a park (
and then just enjoy a few snacks for lunch). If you'd like try out my family's itinerary, I recommend making a breakfast reservation at
The Wave... of American Flavors or
Chef Mickey's, both at Disney's Contemporary Resort. While I haven't yet tried the modified breakfast and character experience at Chef Mickey's, it's at the top of my list for our next trip.
Debbi, another great spot to grab a pre-park breakfast is at the
Grand Floridian Cafe over at
Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. With a relaxing but regal atmosphere, this resort serves up a great variety of breakfast items from avocado toast to those iconic Mickey waffles. In addition to its restaurants and "grand" shopping options, Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa also just opened up a new walkway connecting this resort to Magic Kingdom Park making it easier than ever to get in line for
Peter Pan's Flight!
Debbi, I hope this helps as you're planning out your day at Magic Kingdom Park. Whether you decide to arrive at the Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC) or start your day with a breakfast fit for a Queen, I hope your experience is full of pixie dust and memories.
Please come on back and see us here at planDisney with any other questions you might have,
Lauren
