    Do we need sun hats in December?

    Hi Krista,

    One of Florida's nicknames is "The Sunshine State" and I have found this to be true even in the winter months.  The average high temperature in December is approximately 73º F and the average low is 50º F however the temperature can easily flux higher or lower than these averages.  In fact some of my friends who are local to the area have told me this past week the temperature has been quite warm and ranged in the low 80's.  Therefore when traveling during the fall and winter months I find it important to pack clothes than can easily be layered in case the weather has variations.  I also ALWAYS pack sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat or two since the sun's rays can cause a burn even if the temperature is cool.  Last February I had a mild sunburn on my neck because my hair was in a ponytail and I forgot to place sunscreen there.
