I need suggestions on how to make this trip unforgettable for my kids, esp. my oldest son. As I mentioned in an earlier question to Erin F, my son (7) will officially have beaten cancer in august and I just wanted to get opinions on how to celebrate :)

    Hi again Christina,

You certainly do have a lot to celebrate!

The main focus of any celebration is finding things that make your celebrant feel great. This varies from person to person. If your son likes pirates, you could book a Pirate's League makeover or attend the Pirates and Pals fireworks cruise. If he likes cars, you could give him a shopping spree at Ridemakers. If he likes sports, you could take him to a game at the ESPN Wide World of Sports.

When we took my daughters to WDW for their 6th birthday, they LOVED character meals, so we booked three for one day. Yes, it was waaaay over the top, but they were in heaven. You get the idea.

There are some wonderful celebration ideas on the Disney Floral and Gift Basket website. They can decorate your room for you, or have a basket of toys and snacks sent to the hotel.

As a first step, you should check out this Moms View question about off-the-beaten path things to at WDW. Many are perfect ideas for celebrations. Another good starting point is on the independent website in an article called "Trip Planning 101: Celebrating at Walt Disney World."

Whatever you choose to do, you're certainly celebrating in a magical place. Enjoy your vacation, you've earned it!

Best of luck for continued good news.
