Do I need a stroller for a 7yr old? We live in Chicago so we walk and drive equally. When we go to the zoo he does complain of walking. I guess im just worried about the stares I will get with a 7yr old in a stroller. What does the panel recommend?

Hi ya, Karina! I can relate. We live in Milwaukee, which is similar to Chicago in terms of climate but better in every other regard (slam!)

Seriously though. I have some recent experience to help you weigh your decision.

We just got back from celebrating Thanksgiving at the parks with our boys. Our oldest is almost 7 years old and we went with an executive decision to leave the sit & stand stroller at home and only bring the single stroller. Our primary intention was to use it for our 3 year old, though our almost 7 year old probably used it a third of the time.

He was a trooper with hoofing it through the parks and burning the candle at both ends so that we could get the most out of extended hours at the parks. And I was glad that we had it.

You are much less likely to get stares for a 7 year old in a stroller than you would for a 7 year old protesting to walk any further.

I say bring it. You can gate check your stroller on the plane and it won't count against your luggage totals. If you find you don't need it after the first or second day, shove it to the side of your hotel room and go bipedal.
