    We need to stay in a room that doesn't require a lot of walking to the transportation area. I sometimes have to use a cane & don't want to walk til I get in the parks. HA! We are staying at Grand Floridian. Will we hear the monorail in our rooms?

    Hi  Helen!  The monorails are amazingly quiet and you shouldn't hear them at all no matter what room you have. I have stayed in the main building of the Contemporary Resort where the monorail goes through the building and I never heard it once.

    The Grand Floridian is a superb resort at Disney. It is often the most expensive but the decor and amenities are wonderful. All of the resorts are large and spread out trying to give the guests the most opportunity for a good view.  With the Grand Floridian your best bet is to try to get a room in the main building. Many of these rooms are for concierge guests which would bump up the cost per night.  If this is not possible then I suggest you call the central reservations number and make sure it is noted on your information that you have some mobility issues and are requesting a room as close to the main building as possible. That number is 407-934-7639. Make sure you have your reservation number in hand before you call.
