Hello there, Angela! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.
I’m thrilled to learn you are planning your first visit to the most magical place on earth during the holidays! There’s just something extra special about the holidays at Disney. And getting to welcome the new year at the Walt Disney World Resort sounds truly magical!
Angela, as long as you have a valid theme park ticket, you are good to go for New Year’s Eve at the parks! Some parks do special fireworks to ring in the new year. But you won’t need a special ticket to enter that evening.
Make sure to arrive early and I don’t recommend park hopping on those days. Parks can sometimes hit capacity since it’s a popular day to be there and you don’t want to risk not being able to enter again if you leave. Make sure to reserve your FastPass+ early so you can lock in the attractions on your wish list. And be ready to welcome the new year in the most magical place on earth!
To view all the theme park schedules for park hours and firework times, visit the website and under the Parks & Tickets tab you’ll see a link that says
More Hours. About six months in advance, the schedules will be posted so you can plan your days accordingly.
Did you know that at Magic Kingdom the special New Year’s Eve Fireworks, “Fantasy in the Sky” Fireworks, are also displayed the day before? You can actually celebrate more than once during your visit! And if you wish to celebrate in a special way, you can also consider some of the special New Year’s Eve parties offered at some of the resort hotels where you can ring in the new year with your family Disney-style!
I hope this information was helpful! If you need any additional planning tips, please don’t hesitate to stop by!
Have a magical day,
Emille
