I need to secure dining reservations. I continue to read that prepayment is needed for some reservations. On my last trip i was able to make my reservations w/ only one requiring a card, no payment. I will be using DDplan. Will I have to pay ahead?

    Hi Judy!
There are a few parts to this answer. The practice of requiring a credit card to secure a reservation was put in to place to prevent guests from double booking reservations or from not showing up at all without cancelling at some of the more popular dining locations. In addition, some dining experiences actually require full payment in advance (Cinderella's Royal Table and Hoop de Doo Revue, for example).
Depending where you made reservations on your last trip may be the reason why you didn't need a credit card guarantee or prepayment.
You do not mention where you are trying to book, but if a certain ADR (Advance Dining Reservation) requires prepayment and you are using the Disney Dining Plan, to guarantee the reservation, you may want to book it with your credit card, and then call (407) WDW-DINE to alert them to your situation. Fellow panelists have done this and had the reservation adjusted.
I hope this helps and I wish you all of your preferred dining experiences!! :)
