I need to schedule a DAS interview for my autistic son. Is it 30 days from day one/travel day or day two/first park day? Thank you!

Greetings Jaynee, and welcome back to planDisney!

Thank you so much for bringing a great planning question to us. Disney has upgraded the Disability Assistance Service or DAS pre-registration process. Guests are now able to register for DAS in advance through a virtual chat with a Cast Member.

Before you start your virtual DAS interview, you will want to confirm that all members of your travel group already have their theme park admission tickets and Disney Park Pass reservations linked to their respective My Disney Experience accounts and linked to your “My Family & Friends” list. You can sign in to chat with a Cast Member as early as 30 days before your first park day visit and no later than 2 days before your first park visit. Once your pre-registration is complete, you will be able to reserve 2 one-hour return time windows for DAS Advanced planning, from a select list of experiences from all 4 theme parks. You will be able to make these selections for each day of your park pass reservations.

Once you arrive and your adventure begins, you will still be able to make same-day DAS selections using the self-selection tool in the My Disney Experience app. Even the members of your travel party can request a new DAS selection, in the app, after you scan in to redeem the previous selection. I hope this helps with your planning, if you have any more questions you can reach out to the Disability Services team at (407) 560-2547 or send an email to disability.services@disneyparks.com.

    See ya real soon,
    Andrea
