I need to use a rollator for stability. I do not see them in the parks. I will bring my own. Is there anything special I should know about taking it in the parks. Thanks

    ChEARs Darlene!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. Since I’m one of the two(!) doctors on the Panel, I just had to grab your question! Rest assured, Disney wants to provide the most magical of experiences for all of its Guests, including those who need mobility assistance.

You are more than welcome to bring your rollator into the Parks as it is a mobility aid. I did a quick sEARch to see what it looks like, and I think you will find it easy to navigate with your walker. As there is a lot of walking involved at Walt Disney World Resort, you might consider an ECV or wheelchair rental. Wheelchairs and ECVs can be rented for the day, or you can get one from Disney’s Featured Provider, ScooterBug. The great thing about the company is it will deliver and pick up the ECV to your Resort hotel!

To decrease your transit from the parking lots, take advantage of the Disability Parking Lots at each of the four Theme Parks. You need a valid disability parking permit, though, and standard rates apply. If you don’t have a disability parking permit, you can either be dropped off at the designated drop-off locations or ask to park at the end of the rows closest to the entrance to the Parks.

Darlene, take advantage of FastPass+! This will allow you to skip the standby line at select attractions, and therefore give you a bit of rest. You can also talk with the Cast Members at the front of the attraction about transferring to a wheelchair during the queue if you feel like the wait will be a bit too long for your standing comfort. Here is a list of attractions that accommodate transfers.

If you have any other questions, please don’t hesitate to come back. I hope this trip is just what the doctor ordered!
