We need a restaurant for lunch at Epcot. We have a 5-year old & an 18-month old. What would you suggest? (We are doing Akershus another day & Cape May for breakfast.) Also, what would you recommend in Downtown Disney for supper? Thanks!

    Hi Karen,

You've asked a Disney Parks Moms Panelist who spends a great deal of time pining over Advanced Dining Reservations to choose just the right locations for our family. I'm big on experience, and I think Disney does a fabulous job with the theming and ambience of their many different restaurants. For instance, have you considered Teppan Edo at Epcot, where your Mouseketeers will enjoy the amazingly talented Teppan-yaki chefs entertain them (and you!) throughout the meal? Or the Biergarten Restaurant where live German singing and dancing will allow the kids to burn off steam while the adults enjoy authentic Oktoberfest fare? Two of our favorites!

Over at Downtown Disney, perhaps you might check out the brand, new Splitsville lanes, where the dinner menu has been highly reviewed and you can sneak in a quick bowling game. You may wish to consider T-Rex or Rainforest Cafe, however with the ages of your children there does seem to be a "scare" factor for some families with the animatronic restaurant effects. In our experience, our children were startled pretty easily and so an alternative suggestion for you with awesome live Irish entertainment is Raglan Road Irish Pub & Restaurant. Again, I suggest Raglan Road for the overall experience, and with the Irish dancing and delicious menu items, this might likely become a restaurant you'll visit on every subsequent trip to Walt Disney World Resort!

I hope my suggestions were helpful, Karen, and please visit us again with any other questions.
