Do I need to reserve to go to Disneyland? Do I need to reserve to go to any ride or the avanagers?

Welcome to planDisney, Gessenia. Thanks for taking the time to visit us with your questions. I’m delighted to see that you’re planning an upcoming trip to the Happiest Place on Earth.

Now that the Disneyland Resort theme parks’ reopening is well underway, I bet you’re excited to return to a land of Magic. There are some changes at the Disneyland Resort that are different than what you might be used to before the pandemic. One major difference is the need to make a park reservation. To enter one of the theme parks, each Guest must have a theme park reservation in addition to a valid ticket for the same park on the same date. As you plan your upcoming trip, be sure to check the Theme Park Reservation Availability calendar to ensure the date and park you wish to visit are available.

Also, Gessenia, if you have not downloaded the latest version of the Disneyland mobile app, I highly recommend you do that before arriving at the Disneyland Resort. Not only can you see your theme park tickets and reservations saved to your account, you’ll also need the Disneyland mobile app to access virtual queues to join boarding groups; Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance in Disneyland Park and the new WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure both utilize virtual queues for boarding groups. Each day, Guests have two opportunities to join virtual queues through the Disneyland mobile app, at 7 AM and once they enter a park, they can try for a boarding group at noon. As for the new Avengers Campus at Disney California Adventure Park, there is no reservation needed to enter. However, at times, the area can get crowded as Guests flock to explore this new land so there may be a slight wait to enter Avengers Campus.

I hope this information is helpful for you. If you have more questions as you continue to plan your upcoming trip, please don’t hesitate to write us again. We’re all EARS!

    See ya real soon,

Meet the Panelist: Kiki, California

Greetings! I have been fascinated by the magic of Disney since I was a little girl; now that I am a mother of two, I love watching my children experience Disney Parks through their own eyes. I am also surrounded by fellow Disney-loving nurse friends whom I enjoy quick adults-only Disneyland Resort escapes or Disney Cruise Line voyages with. Whether you are planning your once-in-a-lifetime family trip or a short adults-only getaway to the Happiest Place on Earth, I am here to help!
