Welcome to planDisney, Kathleen. It's great to see you here planning a trip to one of my favorite dining spots in all of Walt Disney World.
From the sweeping views afforded by the floor-to-ceiling windows to my favorite sushi appetizer,
California Grill is always on my must-do list! My husband and I have made reservations to enjoy a longer meal
and have popped into the lounge at the last minute for shared appetizers and drinks. Typically, if you don't mind waiting for a spot to open up, you can check in with the Cast Member at the podium on the fourth floor of
Disney's Contemporary Resort and let them know you'd like to sit at the bar without advanced reservations. Now, Kathleen, as a perfect Walt Disney World date-night choice, Valentine's Day may have a longer than usual wait for lounge seating. If you have your heart set on this location, I recommend stopping by early and being willing to wait.
Kathleen, if for some reason California Grill isn't available on Cupid's favorite day of the year, another great choice can also be found at Disney's Contemporary Resort:
Steakhouse 71. Recently renovated to reflect those opening-year vibes, you'll find a cozy and romantic backdrop for delicious food like the Vegetable “Wellington” that I'm still raving about after a few months.
Kathleen, I'll be crossing my fingers that Tinker Bell sprinkles your Valentine's Day with pixie dust and you have a memorable day in the place that always encourages to
reach out and find your Happily Ever After. If you have any more questions, make sure to run back to planDisney faster than Cinderella running from the ball.
